Alix Bortoli is a French director and fine artist based in Paris. After studying at Central Saint Martins School and the Royal College of Art in London, she began to develop her art by making fashion and animation films. These years enabled her to create concepts for editorial projects and art films, defining her favourite mediums and themes.
In 2018, she directed a short film entitled "Mediterranea". The film was all made out of wood by engraving each frames. The Musée Georges Pompidou offered her the opportunity to join their permanent collection as an emerging talent. In 2020, her film "Night Cab" won the British Vogue X YouTube Future Visionaries award, the Premier Plan prize at the Angers Film Festival and the Vimeo Staff Pick, and was shown at Yale University to film students. She continued her career as a director and artist, working with brands such as Byredo, Courrège, Nike, Adidas, Hermes and magazines such as Harper Bazaar, Lampoon, Cap 74024 and Another Magazine.
In 2022, she won the New Wave Fashion Awards. Film and fine art: her artistic DNA offers a unique 360-degree experience. From concept to post-production, including live action, animation and installations.
Her work always begins with deep research into materials and techniques that align with the brand’s identity. She enjoys experimenting with materials like wood, clay, textiles, and paper to create unique storytelling landscapes.
