Biography +X

Wally Pfister is an American cinematographer and director. He is mainly known for lighting Christopher Nolan’s films. The collaboration between the two filmmakers began on the film Memento (2000). The success of this collaboration allowed Pfister to become the director of photography for many of Nolan’s other films, and he is the only DOP to have worked with Christopher Nolan between Memento and Dark Knight Rises. After four nominations for the Academy Award for Best Cinematography, it is for his work on Inception that he would finally be rewarded. In 2014, he directed his first feature film, "Transcendence", in which Johnny Depp played the lead role.
