Bram Schouw was born and raised in The Hague. He wanted to be a professional soccer player. Lucky for us, he wasn’t good enough. Instead, he landed at HKU University of the Arts in Utrecht where he studied film for four years. Bram graduated with honors. And his graduation film, Marriage, turned up as the official opening film at Curta Cinema Rio de Janeiro 2005. This was the beginning of a long stream of awards for Bram – most notably, his short film “Sevilla” won the prestigious Golden Calf (Dutch Academy Award) and is announced to be in the worldwide top-10 films by Vimeo in 2014.
Bram’s natural talent for beautiful cinematic and honest storytelling has made him an extremely sought after director in the world of advertising. Highlights include his award winning commercials for ‘Audi’, ‘Sensoor’ and ‘Menzis’. More recently his film for ‘Fonds Gehandicapten Sport, which shows the daily obstacles faced by a disabled person, won a Bronze Lion in Cannes 2017.
Alongside his commercial work, Bram Schouw just released his first feature film ‘BROERS’ (Brothers), which is currently traveling the international film festival circuit.
